I was down in Renton visiting my grand-daughter today and fished the Cedar for about 1.5 hours afterwards.  It was mid-day and hot as can be but the fishing was still very good.  I had to use nymphs to get fish, I tried dries a bit but had no luck with them.  Nymphing the heads of runs produced well as the fish are stacked up in deep slots of heavily oxygenated water.  I landed one nice whitefish, 2 smallish trout and 3 very nice trout including one that went 18-19” and was a thick, strong fish.  I had another fish on that went 14” easy and lost him.  All fish came to a #18 PT nymph that was dropped behind a big stonefly nymph.

Only a month left to the season on the Cedar, I’m going to miss it when it closes this year.
