Bogan's oasis down to whatever the takeout is, can't remember the name, it's about a 3 to 4 hour drift depending on how hard you fish. Your friend is correct, lots of gearchuckers, but I've only gone in a driftboat. 15 - 20 fish days.

I have never fished it during the January through March season. I have a friend who use to fish it but said it was so crowed with gear guys and the only little stretch a fly fisherman could fish was the catch & release section near the mouth so he only goes over once in a while at that time of year. Where do you fish ?Ray----- Original Message -----From: Andrew SimmonsSent: Friday, September 30, 2005 8:29 AMSubject: RE: SteelHeadI usually don't hit the GR until January. It's cold as hell, but the fishing is red hot.

Has anyone been fishing the Grande Ronde [Washington or Oregon side], Deschutes or the Snake Rivers recently?I am thinking about going to the Grande Ronde next week or the week after but could change my mind and go to one of the other rivers instead.
