Possible solutions
* Remove any PCI cards (esp SCSI ones) from the machine before doing
the installation and upgrade (assuming you don't need them to get to
the drives :)
* Is the OS X partition before the OS 9.1 partition on the disk? It
may prefer that to be the case.
