The person never had it, and subsequently a few people direct deposited $4000 into the person's account to get "it sent to them", but then never heard anymore, and thus lost a lot of their hard earned money. And although they take it to the police, there isn't a lot that happens sometimes. I'm not saying this is the same for the ones being advertised, but it pays to be careful. Just some things to note when purchasing second hand, especially on eBay or any auction. - Try and get as much information about the person before and after the auction, and/or about the unit being sold. - Check the serial number if possible. Remember you can call Apple on 133 622 and check serial numbers through their warranty department. (Well if I remember correctly you can.) - Be aware of paying large sums upfront, with no guarantee. Use other means like escrow, or COD. - Follow your instinct! If something doesn't seem right,..it probably isn't! I know there are a lot of people who pay and sell through eBay, the Quokka, or other means, and there will never be a problem. I know I use them myself, and have purchased $4000+ systems through it, and not been ripped off, but I know of other horror stories as well (just ask Phillip McGree) :o) So I'm not trying to scare anyone, and I'm almost certain that everyone on this list is honest, but just thought it's always a good time for a reality check. :o) I know I would love to pick up a DP800 and 22" Display for $4000,...but somehow that just too good to be true!
