* Lombard 333 Bronze PowerBook battery dies
* A lot of battery places won't do Lithium battery refurbs
* Call RandomAccess - they quote a new battery for $250
* "Batteries for Everything" quote $250 for a refurb and offer 6 month warranty
* Figure I'll opt for the "real one"
* Call RandomAccess, they reconfirm the battery is available at $250, I order one and they tell me it will be ready to collect in a week
* No call for 2 weeks (and I leave for Sydney on Sunday)
* I call RandomAccess who tell me they can't find the battery as being available and there is no record of my order * They tell me to call service (at UWA) if I want to order one (because apparently that is where they get them from) * Service tells me that a new battery is $345+ or a refurb of my old one for $230

What can I say?

<rant>
I hate RandomAccess. Their service over the last 10 years or so has been nothing short of appalling. Every time I think they have changed they manage to do something like this. Poor service (especially after sales) is their specialty. They do Apple a massive disservice by being one of their resellers. All I can hope for is that their store burns down and they go broke or at least that Apple takes the reigns here in Australia and tells them to get their stinking act together or opens their own AppleStore somewhere nearby.
</rant>

There are several other resellers out there who do a much finer job.
From here on I'm going out of my way to use them and them alone.
