I'd be grateful for anyone's thoughts/experiences on any significant differences between Primus & Telstra's ADSL service please.
I'm currently a Primus dial up user, thinking of upgrading to ADSL. Don't really have a problem with Primus unless I have to contact them - they don't respond to email inquiries, and phoning them means at least a half hour wait. I've sent off about 3 email requests for someone to contact me about ADSL sign-up, and made one phone call, all over the past 6 months or so - I'm still waiting. Does the ADSL software chew up much additional RAM? I'm using an iMac Special Edition with 128Mb of RAM, and will probably upgrade to a new iMac when Apple release the next round of updated models. Telstra's ADSL plans seem to be a bit cheaper if you pre-select them, a bit more expensive than Primus if you don't. I'm contemplating the 512/128 1Gb plan (Telstra or Primus), or the 1.5Mb/256kb 1Gb plan with Primus (Telstra only provide the 1.5Mb/256kb speed starting at 5Mb download limit and $240pm - don't want to pay that much). Is price the only measure to consider? Are there any other (better) ADSL providers out there? I'm in Brisbane for now. Thanks...Steven
