X problems

I have just plunged back into OSX and having problems
1. The OS keeps wanting to ring out all the time and I can't stop the damn
thing 
Worse is that it by passes my amplifier speaker system and comes out through
the tinny imac speakers
I wanted to try Lawn Dock ' y'know put a little grass around the Dock how do
I do this
