It is simple a case of the fact that there is damn all margin in a Mac. Everyone here should remember the Indego $1795 iMac? If you purchased one of those with an American Express or Diners card, it probably cost the reseller about $25 to sell it to you. As was said before, if you want a good 'deal', try and look at an entire package. Computer, printer, scanner, digital camera and software. With something like that, you could probably save a heap of money.
