I had a similar problem with a different brand of computer, a Brother
HL-1240. The problem was caused by a strip of foam rubber in the paper feed
works which had come slightly adrift. A dab of contact cement fixed the
problem. So I suggest to have a look for any strips of foam rubber which
have lifted a bit.

Regards, Paul.
