Since I loaded Mac 10.2 onto my new imac, and the Palm 4 upgrade I have had
trouble synching my husband's Palm. Someone suggested Isync, but that did
not work (would not update, and lost a lot of data).
Two things happen
1) the desktop software won't open the user files. When you shift from none
to the user name, the boxes of info appear then disappear. If I point to
open in the file menu the same thing happens. I can force it to open by
opening the archive files, but it doesn't hold.
You might need to try moving the user's data out of the way and
downloading a fresh copy. To do this, move the folder
/Users/username/Palm/Users
somewhere else, and then re-run Palm desktop. It should download
everything from your Palm onto the Mac. If that doesn't work you can
always move the folder you just moved back.
You can also try quitting Palm Desktop and deleting the file
/Users/username/Library/Preferences
(Where of course, 'username' is the appropriate username in the above examples)
