Phil, There are a number of things that effect the speed.
1 Your phone line , including the distance you are from the exchange. 2. There were 2 separate 56k standards, 56k Flex, and 56k V90 3. Your modem needs to match your ISP modem to achieve best rate. Now there are some modems that switch from format to format, but it depends on the modem. 4 Yes the script can effect the speed. The Generic script I sent you should give you a chance at a higher speed if it will work with your modem. 5.
