Dear Wamugers, I am trying to find a way to deal with filenames longer than 31 characters.
Till now I have done it the hard way. Manually renaming them. Mainly Mp3s and saved Web pages (if we forget to shorten the name while saving that is:( Creating backups this way is a big job, going through and checking all the files. I wish there was an extension or something.......... We are using OS 8.6 connected to Win2k via Dave 2.5.1. Our number one problem is creating CD backups using the Mac. I long to be able to just drop network folders straight into Toast 4.1. but presently the mangling done to the long filenames is a major off-put. Any tips or solutions will be hugely appreciated.
