Hi Neil - I've recieved the same (or similar) problems on and off for about 3- 4 weeks. I think it's a general Telstra issue, not necessarily mac related. I'm running a G4 466 with 10.2.4 and Apple's Mail app on a Telstra dialup plan.
Initially, I thought it was perhaps the fault of 10.2.4.
