The modem in my G4/400 will not pick up on incoming calls. Energy
saver is set to wake for incoming calls but even when the machine is
freshly rebooted and wide awake the same thing happens. There is no
ring sound in the speaker and the incoming call just keeps ringing (I
have two lines so I can dial in on my own phone and listen to both
the phone and the modem and watch the computer all at once). The fax
software (FaxSTFX uptodate version), which normally takes over when
the modem picks up, seems to be set correctly and used to work.
Outgoing faxes and my internet connection through the same modem are
fine. Any suggestions please?
