A OSX Print query

Where exactly do the print files (after being spooled and in the Print Queue) actually get stored ?

I am trying to work out some spool file sizes...

In OS9, I always used PICT files in MS word to produce photo pages as JPEG's created files that were 10x larger. This obviously took 10x longer to print because of all that extra data so PICTs were the go. I wanted to do the testing in OSX again but for the life of me I can't find

those spool files !
