Font with fractions

In the olden days there was a font called Boston that had the common 
fractions of half, three quarters, two thirds etc.
Today I typed up some recipes for my wife with such measures and used 
Boston.  Because she wanted to send them by email with format intact 
I went to Print and Saved at PDF.  But I couldn't.  Obviously there 
was no conversion for the font.  Converting half to 0.5 etc is not an 
option,  a third of cup does not convert very well in metril or 
imperial.
Is there an OSX font with such measures and will Adobe recognise it?
Suggestions please.
