I unsubscribed yesterday, waited 6 hours, and then resubscribed. That didn't fix it.

A guy in South Australia (another BigPond customer I contacted via the bigpond.support newsgroup) is having the same problem with a genealogy mailing list he subscribes to. He reckons it started some time last week as well.

And as I reported earlier, I'm having the same difficulty with the BSWA list.

I think BigPond is the common denominator in all this, and thus the cause, not the lists themselves.

Let us wait a while longer and see what happens at BigPond's end ... although I feel more pain coming our way as it rebuilds its entire email system to the tune of $100 million.
