I just recently downloaded this native OS X version of OpenOffice and so far I'm impressed.
I'm working on a simple text document at the moment but so far I've used it to open up a Powerpoint presentation, a large excel document (no macros) and a quite complex Word document with tables, inserted graphics, table of contents etc. No problems. Negatives at this point: - it doesn't support the mouse scroll wheel - it's built on OO 1.03 rather than the latest 1.1. Mind you, the Mac Xfree version is also this slightly older version. - it still has the "Windows" look rather than Aqua. It's worth a try as a MS Office alternative and the price is certainly right.
