Does anyone else find that machines getting 'stuck' if Fast User
Switching (OS X 10.3) is used while an Apple installer is "Optimizing
System Performance"? Basically, the system gets stuck on its blank blue
screen while switching. I can't remember if this is before or after the
'3-d cube' effect. Anyone know how to recover from this situation
without pressing the hardware reset button? I'm yet to see whether the
systems "come back" after "optimisation" has finished, but I seem to
recall that they don't.
