Hhhmmmmm .... something seems to be happening to a subset of G4 iBooks.

Here is the link to the current discussion in the Apple forums for those who are interested:

I've just hosed my drive and reinstalled 10.3.3 (7G51).

Lo and behold ... problem gone.

Oh ... it was the OS X inbuilt screen saver by the way.

I might wait for 'Tiger'. ;-)

Thanks for checking at your end.

Interesting bug in 10.3.4 ... at least on a 12" iBook G4 1GHz.

Force the screen saver to kick in a couple of times (i.e. using hot corner) ... then check your display.

Has the machine switched from the Color LCD profile to the generic RGB profile (very bluish)?

Doesn't happen here. G4/400 desktop with Apple Studio Display.

Not a 10.3.4 thing, at least not on this hardware.

Doesn't happen on my 14" iBook G4 OSX10.3.4 either.

I wonder if it has anything to do with what Screensaver you are using ?
