I don't own an iSight so this is all guesswork but it may work. The iSight uses a streaming protocol so one possibility may be to try and use something like QuickTime Broadcaster to connect to the iSight. It has an audio and a separate video selection panel where you can select the source.
It may be possible to record streamed video from local as well as remote sources if the appropriate ports (you'd have to find this info) were opened if both parties are behind routers. This way you connect using tcp protocol over the internet rather than Rendevouz locally. Rather than then sending the processed stream onto a Quicktime Server on another machine, Broadcaster could instead save the file locally to disk. Make certain to choose correct format. This file could then be edited in iMovie, Final Cut etc. If you are reasonably command line proficient the latest version of VLC also has a streaming server component that may be able to handle the task since it handles a large range of sources including webcams, mp3's, DVD's etc. There is also a GUI for VLC but the only documentation is for the command line interface. If you had only wanted to record what's picked up by your iSight you could have just used iVeZEEN 2.0 to record. My idea may not work but it could be worth trying.
