Hi Jude, no I've tried it in my Panasonic DVDRV32 & they won't play either.
I'm burning from an external Pioneer drive which does data backups OK.

When you burn the discs, does Toast go through a re-encoding step?
iMovie saves its files as DV format video, whereas they need to be
converted to MPEG (or on some newer models AVI or DIVX) to play on a
DVD player.
