Stephen, I've got it as well, but probably worse. It can take several times to connect. It also means I get ?s instead of pictures in my mail. I also have had sending mail/server problems at the same time. I haven't a clue what to do as I have to keep closing Mail, sometimes rebooting just to send an e-mail. It might not be related, but its funny that they both happened at the same time.
I've read that it could be a DNS related problem, but some reports tie it into one of the recent security updates. There's a site, Macfixit, I think that has some reports.
