Well, we're still happy to have swapped from Bigpond to TPG Internet: 1.5Mb/256k unlimited (shaped to 64Kbps after 24GB of downloads per month) No charge for uploads $49.95 per month. :-)
Couple of caveats that may just be us: My PowerBook has an issue with the D-Link DSL-302G ADSL modem TPG supplied compared to the SpeedTouch ADSL modem Bigpond supplied us with when we were with them. My PowerBook G4 1.25GHz can't get a DHCP IP address from the modem automatically so I have to put in a manual IP. However, the 4 other computers in the house work fine with it. Only other issue we have is the telephone has just started to interfere with the ADSL connection so we leave the phone disconnected while on the internet at the moment! I don't think this is TPG's fault - we're only now just in range of the exchange and the phone lines in our street are very ancient. -Mart -------------------------------------- Martin Hill mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] homepages: http://mart.ozmac.com Mb: 0417-967-969 hm: (08)9314-5242 > From: Richard Kay <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Sat, 13 Nov 2004 12:48:04 +0800 > To: WAMUG Mailing List <[email protected]> > Subject: BigPond's Updated Broadband Plans Released > > From: http://www.whirlpool.net.au/ > > "BigPond has released its updated broadband plans, with a focus on > higher usage plans and telephone bundling. > > The new plans match those leaked to Whirlpool last week.
