Has anyone out there retrieved trashed files in OSX.3 I have trashed
some really valuable files that Norton in its new /dead guise cannot
get to

It's possibly too late now ........ but
shutdown your puter ASAP ...
Then start up from an external drive or CD and DO NOT write to your
hard drive.
If you have juornaling turned on it has probably written over your
trashed files by now
or other OSX background functions have or will do that.
OK ! ? Now you may have a chance of retrieving those files ....
Photorescue will retrieve photo's but I don't know about text
