Morning All,
I have been given a CD of a fairly POP orientated sort of music with a
boom boom base and dynamic snare drum rolling through the track. I was
under the impression said person just wanted a simple disk copy and
thought nothing of it so inserted into Powerbook iTunes fires up loaded
track into iTunes then burnt to CD.
Now the problem lies within person was not happy as it became a very
lifeless sounding track. But, when I actually open track of CD in
Audacity and plug Powerbook into my sound desk for editing film it
sounds similar to original if not slightly better without any tweaking.
Output to AIFF at 44100 and 16bit iTunes and burn, it sounds muddy
again, yes I tried burning using X Cd Roast and Nero in a windows
machine even did a straight copy of CD through both of these and no go
all came out muddy.
Not being a sound expert was just a wondering if any body can throw
some light on this problem as in past I have not really noticed such a
great depreciation in quality when copying CD's through the process of
iTunes.
Also any wonderful sites or books on sound recording, editing and
general sound information would be appreciated.
