I have inadvertently changed the User Name of the Administrator on
an iBook running OS X 10.8.3 and can now only log on as a user
without Administrator privileges, other than reinstalling the system
is there any way I can get in with Admin. privileges?

Boot using the OS X install CD's and see if you can select 'Enable
Root Account' from the File menu. At least I think that's what it's
called.
