Ronni, others

If you have never done this before, regedit is a very dangerous piece of software. Thinking back, I was able to change this setting in Win 2000, but not in XP. There are probably utilities which change the MTU (Maximum Transport Unit) setting, but I don't know of them. Perhaps someone else does?

Sorry
Rob

Hi Rob,

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it.
As you probably already know I am not familiar with Windows XP.
Could you please give me 'detailed' instructions as to how I do this,
or where I can find instructions.

Many thanks.

Ronni

Hi Ronda

I have had this problem before. It is an MTU issue. Set the MTU down from 1500 to 1432 or similar and it should be OK. You will need to use regedit.

Hello People,

I just read Shay's reply to Kevin's question and thought he , or someone with Windows XP knowledge (oh sorry, I have trouble even typing anything to do with 'Yuk-Windows).

My Neighbour has been asking me for help with this problem.

Windows XP - Outlook Express 6 - ADSL connection.

Her mail is working correctly for Sending & Receiving ... well,
except for Sending to a Hotmail address.
She can receive from the hotmail address, but is unable to Send to it.

I understand that Hotmail is HTTP not SMTP (for sending).
I have no trouble sending to the hotmail address on my Mac OSX10.3.8

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm really having a bad headache over this.

Cheers,
Ronni
