Hi all

I don't know much about this - hope someone can help.

I sent an email to someone (not a regular correspondent, but not the first
I'd sent either) and got a reply which said:

 > Hi Neil

Thanks for your message. Thought I should tell you that my virus checker
thought it was infected. Still, it let me read it which was nice.

I had a look at the email I'd sent (viewed source) and it's just a plain
text email with no attachments - how can this be infected by a virus?

Would this be likely to be:

 - a false warning from their virus checker

Yes. Do you know what virus checker they're using?

 - a virus being added by my email program during the sending procedure

Unlikely.

 - a virus being picked up en-route (Bigpond etc)

Unlikely.

Outlook Express Version 5.02

Erk. I'd seriously think about a new mail client.

Have fun,
Shay
