note that if they are sending JPG's it's usually best just to send each JPG file "as is" because, as a general rule, you rarely achieve much notable compression by archiving JPGs anyway. Often I find that the archives overheads actually increases the file size
RAR seems to be quite smart and I've seen it shave several gigs off archived video footage that was already MPEG compressed.
