Hi WAMUGgers

I've been reading about XGrid and OS X It seems powerfully scary. You could use your school or office mac network, or all WAMUG OS X computers over internet, and create a supercomputer,

http://www.apple.com.au/macosx/features/xgrid/

"Mac Synergy
Xgrid turns a group of Macs into a supercomputer, so they can work on problems greater than each individually could solve. You can let Xgrid operate in screensaver mode, so whenever you aren’t working, your Mac can crunch away at some data set. Or if you have a group of Macs dedicated to the task, Xgrid makes it easy to set up a cluster that works around the clock, every day of the year."

There's an explanation of a real life application at http://cmgm.stanford.edu/~cparnot/xgrid-stanford/ with an invitation for you to take part. Quote: "...the purpose being to modelize the conformational changes of the beta 2 adrenergic receptor, and have a better understanding of its pharmacology". (So there!)

So who's game to try it, once tigger bounces in?

Regards
