The reason your QT videos blow out in size is because iMovie converts them into DV format which consumes 13GBs per hour. When imported into iDVD they are then again compressed into MPEG-2 format which will shrink them down to fit either 1 or 2hrs of video on the 4.8GB DVD-video disk (depending on which quality settings you choose) Have you actually imported them into iDVD yet? Which version of iDVD are you using? Have you chosen the "Best Quality" setting in the preferences of iDVD? In iDVD 5 (and iDVD 4), this setting allows the resulting DVD to contain up to 2hrs of video content. I think in iDVD 3 the "Best Quality" setting only allowed 90 minutes per DVD. The default setting "Best Performance" only allows 60 minutes per DVD. >From: Shay Telfer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > What format are the 6 files in? iMovie and iDVD usually work with DV > format files, which are about 12Gb/hour of footage. Note that iDVD encodes the DV files to much smaller MPEG-2 files (typically 2GB - 5GB approx per hr) for the final result on your DVD-video disk. > You basically need to decrease the required space by > * Deleting footage > * Increasing compression (and thus reducing quality) > * Decreasing the dimensions of the footage (width/height) > * Decreasing the frame rate of the footage (12fps instead of 24) > * Choosing a more appropriate compressor (probably only an option if > you're compressing animation or the like) > * Drop the sound quality Note also that all but the first of these options would only be useful if you bypass iMovie and iDVD altogether and copy the QT files directly onto the DVD disc which would then result in a DVD-ROM not a DVD-video disc, so don't expect to play it in a DVD-video player. -Mart
