I have just installed Tiger on my iMac G4 using Update.

Can anyone suggest a fix or what might be in conflict.? Internet
Explorer works well.

Thanks for the suggestions but I have checked this and nothing
appears, I
have no Safari Speedups or enhancers of any type. All other
internet
connections work well.
Hi Lloyd,
With Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, you have more custom installation options
than with previous Mac OS X versions. For example, with Mac OS X 10.4
you can reinstall only Safari if you want to.

Thank you for all those people trying to help with this problem.
But no joy.
I have followed the instructions outlined by Ronni, above, and
reinstalled
Safari 2, with no success, then trashed it and its preferences etc and
reinstalled but still no success. It attempts to start but crashes.
I must
have some conflict but I have turned everything else off without
success. IE
still works so I guess I will have to do with that or do an Erase and
Install. Yuk.

Hi Lloyd,
You could try this.
remove safari and all its preferences, etc.
Download <www.macupdate.com/download.php/17857/Java15Release> ...,
reinstall,
then reinstall Safari from "Optional Installs" on Tiger DVD.
Cheers,
Ronni
