Hi All!

I have encountered a weird problem with 10.4. To start with, when using the automatic spell checker in Mail, the machine locks (as in you can't type anymore, I'm thinking) but does not actually check the word once it returns. I have tried chucking preferences etc, but to no avail. This does not occur with any other user on this machine. In fact, even having a fresh preference folder does not change it one bit.

Secondly, when either Pages or Keynote are run, it quits without even displaying the splash screen. Also, works fine with other users.

I'm at a bit of a loss, as I there is no preference for spell checking and I have thrown everything out concerning Keynote, Pages and iWork and there is no change.

Any ideas?

PS The eventual fix was to reinstall 10.4 (archive and install), but knowing what would cause the above :-)
