Afternoon,
What are you trying to achieve?
If iPhoto is doing what is required why not just use that?
I personally use a great bit of software for organising images, which
Apple has supplied with new machines for a while now called
GraphicConverter. It has all the bells and whistles for capturing
images, image resizing and fairly extravagant touch up controls plus
one of the largest lists of file import/export you could ever
imagine, hence its name. Lots to offer and well worth the effort to
get to know, fairly extensive manuals available for download, it has
been around for many years so lots on the internet also.

I am unable to get the image capture window to load and therefore

and I suspect he has lost interest.
Iphoto works fine so there is no problem with the camera
connection. I would guess the problem lies with my operating
system- 10.3.8, the camera manual states 10.3.?
Has anyone experienced this difficulty.
I have a G5 iMac and PowerShot A520 camera.
