Hmm, looks like the PPC on Intel emulator really works: "Rosetta is a dymanic binary translator. Runs PowerPC code on Intel-baesd Macs. Transparent to users. Pretty fast. Jobs demos Rosetta used to run PowerPC macs on Intel-based Macs. Jobs shows Microsoft Excel/Word running on Intel-based Mac (without any porting and/or recompiling)"
The question is, will Apple die during the year it will take to bring out the first intel Macs as everyone will stop buying existing PPC hardware. Thank goodness Apple has 7 billion dollars in the bank and iPods selling like crazy. It will hopefully keep them going. Oh boy this is going to be an interesting (and somewhat frightening) next 12 months... -Mart > From: Shay Telfer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Tue, 7 Jun 2005 01:39:01 +0800 > To: WAMUG Mailing List <[email protected]> > Subject: Well, what do you know... > > ...looks like Apple are switching to Intel :) > > Time to patch those buffer overruns. > > Have fun, > Shay (Who forgot that NeXT did the same thing some time back :) > -- > =========================== Shay Telfer ================================ > Perth, Western Australia Technomancer Join Team Sungroper in the > Opinions for hire [POQ] 2005 World Solar Challenge > http://public.xdi.org/=Shay fnord <http://sungroper.asn.au/> > > -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- > Archives - <http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml> > Guidelines - <http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml> > Unsubscribe - <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > WAMUG is powered by Stalker CommuniGatePro > >
