Well, wow.
Steve doesn't preclude Windows running on a 'Mactel' (TM) box, but
won't let the Mac OS run on anything but a Mac box. Seems like that
spells the end of a Mac specific games industry. I imagine people
will just buy a copy of Windows to play Doom 4, Half-Life 3 ...
Sitting here with my less than 6 month old Dual 1.8 G5, I can't help
but have mixed feelings about the whole thing. The uneasiness I feel
isn't really rational though, which is a comfort.
What I am concerned about is that I've just become part of the
'software support process', in much the same way that a PPC 7600 user
was when G3 systems were first introduced. Developers from here on in
now have to think about how much time they're going to spend
supporting my system.
I imagine Mac's are about to get a whole lot cheaper - no more work
on PPC specific Graphics cards (although ATI now sell their high end
offering for about the same price as their Windows version) and Intel
chips are well, cheap as chips.
Hmm.

Hmm, looks like the PPC on Intel emulator really works:

Rosetta is the Newton and Mac OS X's ink handwriting recognition
system, but obviously Steve wanted to gloss over that :)
Steve's obviously still the most dangerous man in The Valley.
Have fun,
