G'day Andrew, We bought a couple of Logitech Quickcam 4000's (for around $150 each I think) that are fully Mac OS X compatible and with the addition of the shareware software iChatUSB (if I recall the name correctly) works fine with iChat. This USB webcam is one of the higher quality USB webcams I've tried and while not as good as my iSight, it is not far below quality-wise. Being USB 2 it supports up to 640 x 480 at 30fps resolution and is far better than the original Quickcams. It even has a face-tracking feature where it digitally zooms in to your face and follows it as you move around. The face-tracking actually works reasonably well under Mac OS X as well as on my PC under XP though it is recommended you turn this feature off if using with iChat if I recall.
