Something in the back of my mind thinks this is a 'Microsoft strategy' ie Office free for schools. A good way for the other side to see how much better OS X is than Winblows, lock them in, then the final version has a lot tougher restrictions that makes it almost impossible to run on non-Mac hardware. Then they have to buy a Mac :-)
I wonder who leaked the developer version though.....I figure those copies would have some sort of 'phone home' implementation so Apple can send out the MIB agents to quickly dispose of the offending developer!
