Hi everyone
Secondly(more switching business), another friend has an iMac with
a 'dead' display.
Apparently the light is on and he hears the hardware booting up.
If I recall its sometimes a logic board or a power supply issue,
not too sure, it's not my bag really;)
It is a 'bluey-green' model.
Most folk seem to say 'chuck it, it isn't worth fixing as it is too
expensive'.
Does anyone know if there is someone out there actually quoting and
fixing these?
Sounds like the dreaded Firmware missmatch which is all too common in
some of these models. Talk to Anthony at Computer Trade Centre (9271
0166). He may be able to fix it as long as it is not too far gone
(ie, lots of PRAM resets, etc, which can make the problem worse).
