A client of mine has a vintage PowerPC 7300. It's running perfectly,
and it satisfies his limited needs - until it comes to printing. His
old Epson 670 has finally died. He has had to replace it with a new
USB printer, but we can't get any joy out of the new SwannSmart USB
card which I've installed for him. We have Apple USB Support 1.4.1
installed, but there's no life from the card at all. Won't even talk
to my Flash Drive. I suspect that the minimum specs for these cards
have increase to the point where they no longer support these old
machines, although there is nothing in the supporting blurb which
reflects this. SwannSmart haven't been able to help.
Is there anyone on the list with an old (working) USB card which they
no longer need, and which works in a legacy Mac? Of course, I've
advised the client of the benefits of upgrading his computer, but he
wants head down this path until it runs out.
Thanks
