Try using command line through the terminal to access DVD and the particular program package should be accessible.
The icon at top of the finder window for the DVD, drag into the terminal will give you a starting point put a cd in front of this information with a space > enter. Then normally it would be cd .images for folder of packages. But each DVD/CD is different use ls -a or ls -all to find package within folders. Happy hunting..
I use a program called mc (midnight commander) to navigate within the terminal.
