Hi Bob,
If I remember correctly you can perform a custom install of iDVD from
the iLife '04 installer:
1. Insert the iLife '04 DVD.
2. Open the iLife installer.
Opening DVD
It goes ... reading packages ... then
says it needs to run a program to find out if it can be
installed
Comes back with :
" iLife cannot be installed on this Computer .
This installation cannot proceed because one of the following Apps is
running :
iTunes
Iphoto
IMovie
Please quit these Apps before Installation "
Of course NONE of the Apps are running ... and the thinking is that
this happens BECAUSE
they are later versions than what the ILIFE DVD Disk has on it .
I get the same response with an ILIFE CD that came with the same
package ... without IDVD or Garage band on it.
Pacifist will open the CD main package and show the individual App
packages,
But Pacifist chows the Main Package greyed out on the DVD
which is what prompted me to ask the question :
Can anybody say if it's possible to se Pacifist to extract iDVD
from the iLife package ?
Thanks for your suggestions though !
Bob
PS: Rob Davies made a suggestion about using Terminal ... the one
access I have not learned about yet !
3. Continue through License Agreement and Read Me screens.
4. Select a destination drive and click Continue.
5. Click Customize.
6. Place a check next to iDVD in the installer listing.
7. Click Install or Upgrade.
Cheers,
Ronni

I have tried on a Quicksilver without DVD reader or burner
and on a Laptop with DVD reader
but the package is not accessible ... ( shows up but is greyed out .)
OSX 10.3.9 & 10.3.8
Thanks
Bob
