Rob Findlay helped me out: It seems in my too-vigorous dusting I somehow managed to not only open the Finder preferences panel but also to uncheck the "Show Hard Drives" button...hehehhe... Thanx Rob. Important safety tip: Shut The Bloody Puter Down before wiping dust from the Keyboard!!! :) Seasonal felicitations to all! Kevin from Wycheproof.
