The Combo software updater will update any machine. Much bigger download usually but if you are updating multiple machine much easier. We have at least 6 different types of Mac here and that works for us.
Security updates are the same. Perhaps someone has an idea for this. My dad has a shiny new iMac (PPC of course), but unfortunately he ignored my advise and went with Telstra as a ADSL provider, and so he has a measly 200MG/month limit. Software Updates probably exceed that each month all by themselves! I can download and keep packages on my Mac, burn a CD and sneaker-net it to his house to install, but since it isn't an identical Mac, who knows if they are the same packages. What I want is a way to find out from Software Update on his Mac, what it wants to download, so I could download it here and than install it there. Any ideas if this is possible? Thanks, Peter. -- <http://www.stairways.com/> <http://download.stairways.com/>
