10.2.8 Yes It does run folks. I want to give it to an elderly Lady
who I have known since Adam was a lad. She is ALL switched on and
has wanted a computer but could not afford same. She wants to be
able to email, use it as a typewriter/printer and browse the
internet. She has tertiary level brain (she is a post grad Physio).
My questions are :-
1 Can I go any higher level in Mac OS X?
With the current amount of RAM, I'd say stay at 10.2.x.
If you upgrade the RAM to at least 512MB then look at taking her to
10.3.9
2 Should I go back down to Mac OS 9 ?
Not these days.
3 How much memory should I add and where do I get it and get it put
in :-)
Add at least a 512MB stick (keeping the largest one that is already
installed - probably 32 on the motherboard)
4 I will put her into Wamug for a year.
5 What ISP would be best for her, she lives in Bunbury 'burbs.
I use and recommend iiNet. They have a good dial-up and great
broadband plans. One of the low end plans would probably suit her well.
6 I have got a C60 printer for her.
