the issues which will almost certainly come up with dialup through
the
old iMac modem
connecting to the old regional copper.
As if that is different to a similar circumstance in urban Metro area
????
It's not. Old regional copper is just the same as Metro copper ....
but what is different is the sprawl usually found in Regional areas
which inevitably means the customer is at the extremity, or beyond the
extremity
of a good copper circuit.
These are the circumstances when " Line Conditioning " is applied to
extend
the distance to achieve a working phone service .
It's also the circumstances when we come up against " Farmer Brown's "
electric fence crosstalk clicks , unprotected cable ploughed direct
into the ground
without conduit/ pipe protection etc etc etc.
I only worked in customer technical maintenance for 40 years , so that
is just a sample.
Meanwhile back at the iMac modem , Apple serves up a Modem
Initialisation string
which just begs for an upgrade to reduce the incidence of drop outs .
Been there , and done that . Quite successful for some people .
Have fun
Bob
Believe me, I've lived it through dozens of customers!!!!
6. The Epson C60 has support through drivers up to 10.2.x. It *should*
work
with 10.3.x.
