What OS are you using (8, 9, X, etc)? Also, when you say "connect to network", do you meant hat you have an Ethernet LAN and are you trying to connect TO other computers FROM your G4, or the other way around? If you are connecting to other computers from your G4, you will need to set up your username and password on THOSE computers.
