"Identified", in the sense that it's a proof of concept worm with a
release that gives every appearance of having been deliberately timed
for maximum FUD.

Is it just me (as a single user on large suburban block, not a sysadmin
with a pile of users to mollycoddle) that's not particularly
terror-struck by the thought of laboratory-produced Bluetooth trojans
exploiting holes patched long ago and requiring significant user
interaction to run?

No, it's not just you. I think it's another slow news day, and something even vaguely dodgy on the Mac that can be beaten up into a story makes for easy pickings for lazy journalists. Especially as the anti-virus vendors will be happy to help talk it up. I could write a program that erases your hard drive and mail it out to people and tell them to run it and it would be about as effective.

Imagine if we got a news story for every piece of PC malware!

Have fun,
Shay (off to do something more productive with his Mac)
PS- Although the Bluetooth worm was spotted in the wild in Perth today :)
