Hi Pat,
I'm not 100% sure about this but i have a suspicion that although you
have it set to remove from server iinet does this periodically and not
with each individual email. I know i was glad of this once when my
drive crashed and i lost everything including some business emails not
yet answered.

I spoke to iiNet support and then checked my webmail, which I hadn't
done before. There were 2800 messages there. I have always had the
preferences in Mail set to delete messages from the server right away

problem with this?
I'm not sure if every e-mail ever sent to this address was there - it
looked more like a rather random selection of some. Changing pages on
the iiNet web site was going slower than a crawl, so I just flushed
the entire lot. I suppose I will just have to periodically check the
webmail to see what is going on.
Thanks very much for the suggestions.
